Join us for a fascinating course where we will dive into various neurologic uses of BoNT-A that can be considered therapeutic for your patients.

Learn to treat:

  • Migraines
  • TMJ
  • Trigeminal Neuralgia
  • Bell’s Palsy

Many aesthetic providers are already treating their patients for these conditions, but all too often they lack precise training in its application.  This can lead to treatment failure and frustration for both the patient and provider alike.

Many patients when receiving medicinal application of BoNT-A would prefer to have their cosmetic treatment on the same visit.  Being able to combine the art and science of both therapeutic and cosmetic indications can be an important thought when we  consider that prevention of circulating neutralizing antibodies comes from less treatments, not less dosage.

This course will be taught by Dr. Andrew Blumenfeld.  Dr Blumenfeld is the director of the Los Angeles Headache Center with offices in San Diego and Los Angeles.  He is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is also certified in Headache Medicine.

Dr Blumenfeld is the founding chair of the American Headache Society section on Interventional Procedures for Headache.  He has published widely and has over 100 publications. His research interested have focused on the use of Botox for Migraines.

Dr. Blumenfeld helped to develop the injection protocol used in the pivotal migraine trials.

Dr Blumenfeld is world renowned and teaches nationally and internationally on his clinical research findings, protocols and techniques for injection therapy.

This course will be comprehensive and involve two components, a didactic set of lectures that will teach the attendee the following:

  • How to identify patients with migraine who might benefit from BoNT-A treatment
  • Anatomy and method of injection for migraine targets
  • How to diagnose TMJ disorders
  • Anatomy and method of injection for TMJ disorders
  • Anatomy and diagnosis of myofascial pain
  • Anatomy and method of injection for Bell’s palsy.

The second component of the course will involve a workshop during which each registered hands-on attendee will have the option to bring a patient on whom they can provide treatment under the guidance of Dr Blumenfeld.  Remaining attendees will be able to observe so that by the end of the course they will see a variety of injection techniques to solidify their understanding of the protocols that are used at an expert Neurology level.

Nicola Lowrey MPAP, PA-C will be assisting with injection guidance during the hands-on portion of the course.
